Milan's economic growth is twice the Italian average

Recently, Italian president matarella affirmed and praised Milan's economic and social development at the inauguration ceremony of the new campus of Bocconi University, and said that Milan has entered a new stage of rapid economic growth and vitality, which is worth promoting and learning for Italy, EUROLINK quoted EUROLINK news agency as saying.

According to reports, according to the regional economic statistical analysis report of the Italian National Bureau of statistics, the current economic growth rate of Milan has exceeded the average social and economic growth rate of Italy by two times.

During the inauguration ceremony of Bocconi University's new campus jointly attended by President matarella, Milan mayor Giuseppe Sala said that the current overall economic situation of Italy is still worrying. The European Commission has repeatedly stressed that Italy is the country with the slowest economic growth in Europe.

Sala said that Italy has too many cars in greening and environmental protection, too high carbon dioxide emissions, and unstable hydrogeology, all of which are restricting the economic development of society. In terms of Milan's economic situation, from 2014 to 2018, Milan's GDP grew by 9.7%, thanks to the successful hosting of the World Expo in 2015. Italy's GDP growth rate was only 4.6%.

In 2018, Sala said, the unemployment rate in Milan had dropped to 6.4%, while the average unemployment rate in Italy was 10.8%. More than 4300 of Italy's 8000 multinational companies are headquartered in Milan, attracting more than 13 billion euros of foreign investment, accounting for one third of Italy's total foreign investment.

Sara pointed out that Milan is an important part of Italy's social and economic development. It can't be denied that today's image of Italy looks old and tired, and the social vitality is slightly insufficient. And Milan want to be able to provide their own experience, and common progress and development with the country.
