The most obvious is the iOS system and the self-developed processor chips in the iPhone and iPad. Apple's processors, while based on the Arm architecture, are often designed differently from the public version. As a result, they are hardly generic to other brands, but they are more powerful than general-purpose processors from Qualcomm and Samsung, which rely heavily on ARM-based versions. While Arm's public architecture has been squeezed in recent years, Apple could provide an extra boost by customizing its own design.
Customization is not a unique skill of Apple. Those who have a say in a particular field like to customize their own standards. Graphics cards, for example, have improved in performance and cost performance over the years, but many professionals have been forced to buy old yellow graphics cards for Nvidia's exclusive CUDA.
It certainly has its downsides. For example, when Apple likes the Lightning port, 5V1A and 20W charging, users have to accept it, one is willing to fight the other.
