Oct 21, 2022| The iPad Pro is expected to be available in 2024, or with hybrid OLED technology
According to screen analyst Ross Young, Apple is expected to launch an 11/12.9-inch iPad Pro model with an OLED panel in the first half of 2024.
A new iPad Pro with the M2 chip was introduced yesterday, but the screen material remains the same, with the 11-inch model still missing the mini-LED material. Apple first equipped the mini-LED display on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in April 2021, and despite rumors that the 11-inch model would follow, that didn't happen.
In contrast to the mini-LED technology, the OLED display Apple plans to use will reportedly include a two-layer tandem structure with two red, green, and blue emission layers that increase brightness. OLED displays are also more power-efficient, which helps extend battery life. According to a DigiTimes report earlier this month, Apple may use a "hybrid" OLED technology in the iPad in 2024, which could reduce production costs while making the device thinner.
