The function of positive and negative series connection

If two zener diodes are connected in series in reverse, when the positive and negative voltage reaches the zener value, the voltage is clamped (i.e. can't be raised again).

1. In the amplification circuit with high power, the grid g and the source s of the power tube are often connected with a zener diode. This is to protect the G-S by limiting the voltage, so as to prevent the insulating layer between the G-S from being broken down by high voltage.

2. After two diodes are connected in reverse series, they can protect the circuit in parallel. When the circuit is over-voltage, the diode first breaks down and shortens.
