In order to meet the application requirements of high-power power supply, PI has launched this set of high-performance PFC+LLC power supply scheme, in which the PFC power factor correction part adopts a chip HiperPFS-5, and the internal integration of PowiGaN power device, compared with the traditional discrete device scheme, the integration degree is higher, and the peripheral device is less. And the size of boost inductor can be reduced by more than half. The LLC resonant and synchronous rectifier section uses the HiperLCS-2 chipset, which integrates the controller into one chip and the power half-bridge into the other, reducing the number of components by 40% compared to the conventional solution.
It is worth mentioning that the HiPERPVS-5 and HiperLCS-2 chipsets have extremely high conversion efficiency. When used together, the comprehensive full load efficiency can reach more than 95%. The peripheral simplification and high efficiency will help to realize the design of high-power and small-size power supply, and provide a new option for the development of high-power fast charging source in the future.
