Oct 08, 2022| Apple's M2 MacBook Air has scored well, matching the MacBook Pro
According to macOS developer Mr. Macintosh, the first score of the M2 MacBook Air has been released. The M2 MacBook Air Geekbench 5 has a single CPU score of 1899, a multi-core CPU score of 8965, It runs macOS 12.4 and has 16GB of unified memory. In addition, the rest of the Geekbench 5 scores show the M2 Air running at 3489MHz, with a single core running around 1,900 MHZ and a multi-core running around 8800 MHZ.

These scores are said to be about the same as those achieved by the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip, confirming that the two laptops had nearly the same performance in tests, as was the case with the M1 model. While the M2 chip performed equally well in the Geekbench tests of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, in practice the MacBook Pro may still perform better in constant, demanding workloads, Because the MacBook Air doesn't have a fan to actively dissipate heat.
