VideoCardz has obtained an architectural design of AMD's RDNA3 GPU, which shows some information that was not mentioned in AMD's press release.
As shown above, the RDNA3 architecture Navi31 GPU utilizes a Chiplet design, consisting of a 5nm graphics core (GCD) in the middle and six memory cache cores (MCDS) of a 6nm process around it. In terms of cache, Navi31 L0 cache is 3MB, an increase of 240%; L1 cache is 3MB, an increase of 300%. L2 cache is 6MB, an increase of 50%. The L3 infinite cache is 96MB, 32MB smaller than the previous generation Navi 21.
Most notably, the RNDA3's GPU frequency exceeds 3GHz, which is the first in the industry. However, the AMDRX 7900 XTX public version has a Boost frequency of only 2.5GHz. According to sources, AMD seems to pursue the balance between performance and power consumption, in the public version of the graphics card with dual 8pin power supply, limiting the graphics card power. The non-public version will use better heat dissipation and power supply to reach the 3GHz frequency, unlocking more performance.
