Is it better to drink milk or substitute without dairy products?

 

From birth to now, milk plays an important role in the life of all mammals. But some people say that drinking milk from another mammal is unnecessary, unnatural, and even unhealthy. As the only animal that drinks another kind of milk, humans have an unusual relationship with white food. Once we start to need more complex food, most other animals will be weaned in infancy. So why do humans continue to drink?

 

Cattle raised in some parts of the world, including northern Europe and North America, evolved to digest lactose about 10000 years ago. As a result, about 30% of the world's population continues to produce lactase, an enzyme that digests lactose until adulthood. After the weaning phase, the rest of the population lost production.

 

As a result, most people are lactose intolerant, which makes the Nordic people who drink milk abnormal. In this area, only about 9% of people are lactose intolerant.
