Apple Data Line With Security Features?

Apr 17, 2018|

As Apple's transmission data line, there is news that the past has been a copycat, it is exposing the dismantling of the Apple data line diagram, contains four chips, there are two transistors, which is equipped with Texas Instruments chips are considered to have security features.

Something related to Apple may be arrogant piracy. It is an indisputable fact. Whoever makes it so expensive to sell the data line, and so many people use apples? But Apple is not fooling around, secretly defending the technology flow of piracy. When Apple just launched Appleinsider dismantled its Apple data cable and found that it could be used for security authentication and evading pirated chips.

Of course, it was only speculation that Chipworks has further explored the chip. Such an argument has basically been confirmed.

Chipworks discovered four chips at Lightning, including two transistors, an NXPNX20P3 chip and a Texas Instruments chip. This is a Texas Instruments BQ2025 chip that is considered to have security features.

Texas Instruments has not released this chip before, and careful Chipworks found that similar chip models BQ2022, BQ2023, BQ2024, and BQ2026 can be found in the introduction to use with the battery power meter.

Chipworks further found that the four chips described above use single-wire SDQ (TI's unique serial communication control protocol) interface and have some basic security features, such as CRC cyclic redundancy check, so it can be inferred from the Apple data line. The BQ2025 used should also have security features.
