Some people think that Apple can do nothing wrong and just go along with it. For example, LeEco even released LeEco Phone 2 without the headphone jack before Apple, saying that it would bring better sound quality through USB-C. The plan behind it is just to ride on Apple's popularity.
There are plenty of other vendors who are staunchly opposed to Apple's hardline approach. Samsung, always a fan of antagonizing Apple, not only dropped the headphone jack on its flagship phones, but also included AKG wired headphones with good sound quality, and even released an AD mocking the iPhone's lack of a headphone jack.
By now, the controversy is pretty much over. Samsung ditched the headphone jack on its 2019 Note 10 series, and it's been years since most mid-range and high-end phones got rid of the headphone jack.
