In 2015, USB PD 3.0 was released, with PPS (Programmable Power Supply) added and compatible with various fast charge protocols. The latest specification already supports Qualcomm QC4 fast charge protocol.
USB PD 2.0 and USB PD 3.0 support the following power configurations, with a much larger charging power than version 1.0.
For a variety of reasons, USB PD 1.0 was largely unadopted. In contrast, the newer USB 2.0 and USB PD 3.0 are more widely accepted and used.
USB PD fast charging still has a long way to go to unify the market. The fast charge technology developed by the mobile phone manufacturers has become the selling point of their own publicity. I am afraid that the mobile phone manufacturers cannot give up their fast charge technology in a short time. In the long run, unifying fast charging technology will be good for regulating the market, and consumers will no longer have to worry about charging various devices.
