1. USB Type C History and Features

        In December 2013, the USB 3.0 marketing team released a rendering of the next generation USB Type-C connector, which was officially released on August 10, 2014. The highlight of the new interface is a slimmer design, faster transmission speeds (up to 10Gbps) and more powerful power transmission (up to 100W). The biggest feature of the USB Type-C interface is its support for double-sided insertion. It has officially solved the worldwide problem of "USB never inserted" and it is inserted casually on both sides. At the same time, the USB data cable used with it must also be more detailed and lighter.

On March 15, 2016, the revised version 1.2 was released as the latest version.

2. USB Type-C interface advantages

1) Full-featured: Supports data, audio, video and charging at the same time, and lays the foundation for high-speed data, digital audio, high-definition video, fast charging, and multi-device sharing. A single line can replace multiple cables in the past;

2) Positive and negative insertion: Similar to Apple's Lighting interface, the front side of the port is the same, supporting positive and negative insertion;

3) Two-way transmission: data and power can be transmitted in two directions;

4) backward compatibility: Through the adapter, compatible with USBType A, Micro B and other interfaces;

5) Small size: interface size is 8.3mm X2.5mm, about USB-A interface 1/3;

6) High speed: Compatible with USB 3.1 protocol can support up to 10Gb/s data transmission.
