The most important difference is the difference in its working state during normal operation, which is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. The magnetic flux density of the voltage Transformer during normal operation is close to the saturation value, and the magnetic flux density decreases during a fault; the magnetic flux density of the current Transformer during normal operation is very low, and the short-circuit current on the primary side becomes large during a short circuit, which causes The flux density has increased significantly, and sometimes even far exceeds the saturation value.
2. The voltage Transformer is a special Transformer used to measure the high voltage of the power grid. It can convert the high voltage to a lower voltage according to the specified ratio and then connect it to the meter to measure. For voltage Transformers, no matter how many volts the primary voltage is, the secondary voltage is generally specified as 100 volts to supply the voltage required by the voltmeter, power meter, kilowatt-hour meter and the voltage coil of the relay.
3. The current Transformer can be short-circuited for the second time, but must not be open; the voltage Transformer can be opened for the second time, but must not be short-circuited. Electrical equipment that converts large currents into small currents according to a specified ratio is called a current Transformer. The current on the secondary side of the current Transformer is generally specified as 5A or 1A to supply the current coil current of the ammeter, power meter, kilowatt-hour meter and relay.
4. For the load on the secondary side, the primary impedance of the voltage Transformer is small or negligible. It can be considered that the voltage Transformer is a voltage source; while the primary resistance of the current Transformer is so large that it can Considered a current source with infinite internal resistance.
