Three major wireless charging technology alliances and standards
Today's wireless charging technology is constantly maturing, technology development is progressing smoothly, and international standards are gradually being formed. Currently, there are three main wireless charging standards: Power Matters Alliance (PMA) standard, Qi standard, and Alliance for Wireless Power standard.
Of the three major standards, the Qi standard is an international standard established on 17 December 2008 by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), the world's first standards body that promotes wireless charging technology. Currently, WPC uses the most widely used and most widely deployed products in the wireless charging technology standards group. WPC has more than 200 member companies around the world and is primarily a global giant of communications products. Launched by Philips and Fulton, the Wireless Power Transfer Alliance has been in development for over five years. There are currently 212 members who have passed the Qi certification, such as Samsung Galaxy S-View flip covers and other mobile phones, and there are 515 wireless charging products. Charger products include Nokia, LG, Panasonic, Sony, Moto, Sharp, Fujitsu, NEC and Pantech. This demonstrates the rapid development of WPC's Qi wireless charging technology in various fields. On August 31, 2010, the Wireless Charging Alliance formally introduced Qi wireless charging technology in Beijing, China.
