The difference between Apple's two data cables

Apple's two types of cables are usually referred to as Lightning-USB and USB-C Lighning. The differences are as follows:

1. Difference in charging speed: The highest transmission rate of USB-C port is 10GB per second. But apple says the new lighning's usb-c port has a maximum transfer rate of 5Gbps. The maximum output voltage is 20 volts, which speeds up the charging time. The USB-A model, on the other hand, has A maximum transmission rate of 5 GBPS and output voltage of 5 volts so far.

2, the difference between bidirectional transmission: unlike older USB ports, where power can only be transmitted in one direction, USB-C port power transmission is bidirectional, which means it can have two ways to send power. As a result, users can now charge their mobile devices not only from their laptops, but also from other devices or portable power sources.

3, the difference of the cable interface: USB-C Lighning port is 0.83 cm long and 0.26 cm wide. The old USB Lightning port, measuring 1.4cm long and 0.65cm wide, is already outdated. This also means that the end of A USB-C cable will be one-third the size of the plug of A standard USB-A cable.

4. Versatility: The USB-C port of the new Lighning can be used to transmit data, charge and connect to external display devices as a video output port.

5, backward compatibility difference: USB-C can be compatible with the older USB standard, but users need to purchase an additional adapter to complete the compatibility. The company says that not only will Apple officially sell the adapters, but third-party companies can license them. But Lightning-USB is not compatible with USB-C Lighning.
