Nov 09, 2022| The Apple Watch Series 8 May get a major upgrade after a number of patents were revealed
According to MacRumors, Apple filed patents for several unused Apple Watt-related technologies between 2019 and 2021, including a new look for the Apple Watch, new biometrics, and a monitoring system for Parkinson's patients. These technologies could be used in future Apple Watch devices.
The first patent is for biometric authentication, which will verify the identity of the wearer based on the state of their skin, allowing users to unlock the Apple Watch without feeling.
The second patent concerns a self-tightening Apple Watch band that adjusts during strenuous activities such as running or exercising to get an accurate heart rate reading.
The third patent describes how the Apple Watch will use biosensors to monitor and alert doctors to the symptoms of Parkinson's patients.
In addition, Apple filed a patent this year on the appearance of the Apple Watch, which completely redesigns the look of the Apple Watch. The new design features a rounded watch face, a wraparound display and a digitally customizable band.
Apple has filed several other patents, including for batteries, speakers, kinetic energy generators, haptic feedback devices, and even cameras. As previously revealed, Apple Watch Series 8 will have new sensor-based functions such as blood glucose monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, temperature sensor and sleep breathing monitoring. If the above information can be confirmed, then the Apple Watch Series 8 will be the biggest upgrade of the Apple Watch series.
