SONY will release at least five Xperia models next year. Switch to under-screen fingerprint recognition

SumahoDigest, a Japanese website that often leaks information about SONY products, recently reported on some of the Intel it gets from SONY's forums, Said SONY would release at least five Xperia models in 2023, including the Xperia PRO-II, Xperia 10 V, Xperia Ace IV, Xperia 1 V and Xperia 5 V.

According to the forum post, three of the models, the Xperia PRO-II, Xperia 1V and Xperia 5V, may be powered by the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The Ace IV will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, while the Xperia 10 V will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.

It also revealed that the Ace, which is usually only available in SONY's home country of Japan, will also be available globally, which is good news for those looking for an alternative to the Android version of Apple's iPhone mini. While the Xperia 1 V, 5 V and 10 V will stick to the current release pattern, which means the 1 V and 10 V will be released in May, while the 5 V will be released in September.

In addition, SONY is finally ready to move away from physical fingerprint recognition in favor of under-screen fingerprint recognition, which most Android manufacturers have already done. As for other specs, the SONY Xperia 1 V and 5 V may have a 1-inch camera sensor, a powerful speaker system, and a new design. More rumors may begin to surface in the coming months.
