Solve the problem of charger explosion?
Mar 31, 2018| We often see news about the explosion of the charger, so many people are worried about whether the charger they use will inadvertently explode when using the charger. However, as long as the charger is properly used, it will not explode. In front of us, we talked about how to correctly use the charger. We can combine them to find out. So why does the charger explode? Here are some of the reasons why the charger explosion is analyzed by the Yongletong technicians:
First, short-circuit caused
This is less likely for a charger to explode due to a short circuit, one of which is a protection circuit (in addition to the protection circuit, a PTC-like protection element can also be connected in series). In addition, when the short circuit current flows through the PCB trace, the PCB trace will be burned.
Second, the battery itself
Due to internal defects in the battery, the battery itself exploded without charging or discharging. In this case, what we can do is choose a better cell, such as a polymer.
Third, the battery caused by long-term overcharge
The first case is that the possible charging voltage is indeed too high, and the voltage during charging is greater than 4.3V; the second case is that the maximum allowable voltage of the two batteries is less than 4.2V, and the former is highly likely to be estimated. The countermeasures adopted include protecting the IC from overcharging to take 4.30V. Although the maximum allowable voltage of the cell is 4.35V, we still need to consider the discreteness. This includes the dispersion of the cell and the dispersion of the protection IC overvoltage, and There is margin. The selection of Seiko IC is due to its high overvoltage protection value and its wide range of options (4.2-4.4). At the same time, the charging circuit must be strictly corrected to ensure that the maximum value does not exceed 4.25V.
The above three situations are some of the reasons that cause the charger to explode. Of course, the reason that the charger will explode must be more than these points. We must use the charger correctly when it is used. Do not insert the charger into the plug. Not pulled down, when the plug is working, the constant flow of current will cause the heating of components, it is very easy to cause an explosion, we must develop a good charging habit.
