Principle and characteristics of LED switching power supply

Three conditions for LED switching power supply

1, switch: power electronic device works in the switch state instead of the linear state

2, high frequency: power electronic devices work at high frequencies rather than near the low frequency of the power frequency

3, DC: switching power supply output is DC instead of AC

The LED switching power supply has a circuit to control the switching tube for high-speed switching and cut-off. The conversion of direct current into high-frequency alternating current to transform the converter to produce the required one or more sets of voltages! The reason for converting to high-frequency AC is that the efficiency of high-frequency AC in the transformer circuit is higher than that of the mains 50Hz or 60Hz. Therefore, the switching power supply transformer can be made small in size, and it is not very hot when the switching power supply is working, and the product price is lower than the power frequency DC regulated power supply. If 50Hz or 60Hz is not changed to high frequency, then switching power supply has no meaning. The switching power supply can be roughly divided into two types: isolated and non-isolated. There is a switching power converter that is isolated. The switching power supply converter does not necessarily have to be isolated. Compared with the traditional DC power supply, the switching power supply has the advantages of small size, light weight, and high efficiency.
