Along with the new iPad Pro and iPad line, Apple lowered the prices of refurbished devices for some older models of the iPad, and at the same time, Apple also lowered refurbished prices for some product lines that were not updated.
Most notably, Apple has cut prices on refurbished 14-inch and 16-inch models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. From their debut in April until earlier this week, refurbished M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro models were priced about 10 per cent lower than their brand new counterparts, but now they are 15 per cent cheaper.
For example, the 14-inch model, which normally costs $1,999, went for $1,799 when refurbished, but as of this week the price had dropped to $1,709; The 16-inch MacBook, which costs $3,499 new and $3,149 refurbished, has dropped to $2,989.
The price cuts are even steeper for older, refurbished MacBook Pro models, such as the 2019 16-inch i7 model, which costs $2,299 brand new. As of this week, the refurbished model was selling for $1,749, a nearly 25% discount from the original price. All Apple refurbished Macs come with a one-year warranty, and Apple Care+ extends the standard one-year warranty, the same as new ones.
