Mobile phone charger function
1, good quality charger can identify lithium battery and nickel-metal hydride battery, and then determine the charging mode. The lithium battery protection circuit board has an integrated circuit that stores the characteristics of the lithium battery. On the one hand, it allows the charger to recognize the lithium battery to determine the "constant current" and "fixed voltage" charging modes; on the other hand, the mobile phone can Identify the lithium battery to determine the discharge method.
2. The charging method of NiMH battery adopts “constant current”. The nickel-hydrogen battery itself is not afraid of overcharging. When the nickel-hydrogen battery is overcharged, there will be a reverse reaction to prevent the voltage from rising excessively. This reaction will cause the battery to slightly heat up. In addition, NiMH batteries are usually equipped with a thermistor to prevent overcharging of the battery. Most mobile phones operate at around 3.6V, so three nickel-metal hydride cells are required. In general, the nickel-hydrogen battery cell is overcharged to about 1.4 to 1.5V, and the maximum voltage of the three-cell battery is about 4.4V.
3. Due to the danger of overcharging of lithium batteries, the setting conditions for charging and discharging are more stringent than those of nickel-cadmium batteries and nickel-hydrogen batteries. A control circuit board is usually added inside the lithium battery to prevent overcharging. According to the characteristics of the lithium battery, the first stage of charging is charged in a "constant current" mode, and the battery is optimally charged by "fixed voltage" (about 4.1 to 4.2V) when it is fully charged. Some people in the market are cutting corners and cutting the mobile phone batteries into nickel-metal hydride batteries, and charging them in a "fixed current" manner often leads to overcharging of lithium batteries. A good quality protection board will now protect the lithium battery to prevent the charger from continuing to charge. If you encounter a poorly designed circuit board, you can not only protect the battery, cause the battery to overcharge, but also cause the battery core to be deformed, leaked, exploded, etc. due to overcharging.
4, the seat charge is mostly fast charging, usually in 1 to 2 hours is full. When the charger is fully charged, even if the battery is not removed from the charger, only a very small amount of power is left to enter the battery.
5. The memory effect of Ni-MH batteries is not large, and there is no need to discharge frequently. Lithium batteries basically do not need to be discharged. The chargers sold in the market have different quality of discharge devices attached thereto. Poor quality may cause over-discharge, which may cause corrosion of the negative electrode inside the battery (the electrolyte inside the nickel-hydrogen battery is an alkaline solution of potassium hydroxide), thereby reducing the life of the battery and the capacity that can be used normally. In this case, the battery will burn out faster each time it is discharged and recharged. Under normal circumstances, as long as the power of a battery is automatically turned off and then charged, it is the best discharge treatment method for the battery.
