It was revealed that Apple slashed orders for TSMC's A16 / A15 chips, and the high-end iPhone 14 Pro/Max faces a downward revision

According to the data from various research agencies, the mobile phone market has been in a downturn this year, in a continuous decline. According to Counterpoint's Q3 2022 domestic handset market data report just released, smartphone sales in the quarter fell 12.4% year on year.

Each brand has a different degree of decline, only Apple, Huawei, honor gains a small increase, but also only a single digit percentage. According to industry sources, Apple has even started slashing orders for the A15 and A16 chips, including the much-touted iPhone 14 Pro in its latest earnings report.

While Cook repeatedly stressed that demand for the iPhone 14 exceeded supply and that the pricier Pro model was more popular, with 98% satisfaction ratings, the overall decline was far from complete.

Weekly iPhone sales in China are falling fast, according to new research from US investment bank Jefferies. In the week starting Oct. 24, Apple's iPhone sales in China plunged 27 percent, the third straight week of decline, and the decline is likely to get worse. Analysts also said Apple's market share in China may have fallen 4-5 percentage points in tandem over the past month.

In terms of the market, the iPhone 14 series has only been on the market for a month. In the recently opened Double 11 event, the price has been sharply reduced by at least 500 yuan through official channels. It's not clear how much iPhone sales will support Apple's earnings next quarter after the Pro's blockbuster debut.
