IPhone14 battery percentage, back after five years
Oct 03, 2022| IPhone14 battery percentage, back after five years
Early this morning, Apple rolled out the Beta 5 update to iOS 16 developer Preview test users, bringing a feature update that hasn't been seen in five years -- the status bar battery percentage.

After five years, Apple finally figured it out. Bangs take up too much space. Just put the battery percentage in the icon.

Not to mention, iOS 16's battery display is extremely nuanced. The percentage figures contrast strongly with the solid ICONS for good readability. It changes colors and displays animations when it is charged and switched to power saving mode.
For many iPhone users, this is a very friendly improvement, with visible battery percentage and more leisurely daily use of the phone, as it was in the pre-iphone X era.

But there are also a small number of iPhone users who are not impressed by the device and think it is ugly. Android users' attitude is quite unified, sending a "friendly" group joke: it is not the battery percentage, Android phone which has not been used for 10 years, a switch matter.
As for the percentage displayed in the battery icon, it is essential for domestic mobile phone customization systems such as Xiaomi MIUI, OPPO ColorOS and Huawei HarmonyOS. Not so much gorgeous animation, wins in the practical and heritage.
Perhaps for readability reasons, there are still a few loose ends on Apple's side. The iPhone 12 Mini and 13 Mini, as well as the older iPhone 11 and iPhone XR, won't get the feature even if they upgrade to the new system; Our guess is that the first two screens are too small and the second two have low resolution.

Perhaps Apple will change its mind when iOS 16 is released in the future. On the other hand, we don't know if this feature will be eliminated in the official version.
