iPhone 16 design exposed, this year looks like this?

Feb 05, 2024|

For Apple users, the fall event held every September is an event not to be missed.

For no other reason, Apple usually introduces a new generation of its flagship iPhone at its first fall event each year, and this year will be no exception.

Although it is still quite some time before the new iPhone is released, the rumor mill has already been pouring out.

According to previous news from the outside world, the iPhone 16 series will be equipped with A18 series chips, and are differentiated according to different models.

At the same time, Apple is also expected to bring some new changes to the iPhone 16 standard model, such as an upgrade to the camera module.

Recently, the source @Majin Bu exposed the design of the basic model of the iPhone 16, which confirmed some previous Revelations.

Let's take a look.

From the front of the design, the design of the standard version of the iPhone 16 has not changed much compared to the previous generation, and it is still up for debate whether the millimeter-wave antenna under the power button is the US version or the rumored shooting button.

The biggest change in the design diagram is undoubtedly the change in the arrangement design of the iPhone 16's rear camera module, from diagonal to vertical.

On this point, foreign media MacRumors has previously sent out Revelations, revealing that Apple is considering two sets of design schemes.

Either the dual camera arrangement, similar to the iPhone 12 series, or the vertical pill design, similar to the iPhone X.

Although the design changes are currently in the early stages of development, from the previously disclosed design drawings, the position of the flash under the two camera arrangements should not change.

The reason why the iPhone 15 Pro series models can do this is mainly because its two cameras are located on the same plane and arranged in parallel.

This design also provides enough parallax to achieve 3D depth effects to support the iPhone 15 Pro series models to complete spatial video shooting.

It is widely believed that if the new design is finalized, Apple's main purpose should be to support spatial video shooting for the iPhone 16 standard Edition model.

It is well known that Apple has swapped the position of the rear-shot telephoto lens and ultra-wide-angle lens in the iPhone 15 Pro series models to support spatial video shooting.

In spatial video shooting mode, the user holds the phone horizontally, and the camera captures images in landscape format from both the main camera and the ultra-wide-angle camera, and combines them into 3D video.

Of course, the current iPhone 16 series is still in the early testing phase, and is expected to usher in test production around April at the earliest.

Apple still has plenty of time to add more changes to the iPhone 16 lineup before the final design is finalized.

And judging by the importance Apple has attached to the Apple Vision Pro, it's no surprise that spatial video shooting is a standard feature on the new iPhone.

As for the specifics, I believe we can also get further information in more Revelations later.
