The price hike was accompanied by another rumor that the iPhone 14 Pro series will offer up to 2 terabytes of storage. Even Apple's own 24-inch M1 iMac comes with just 1 terabyte, which would put many home computers to shame.
The current iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max both come with 1TB of storage at 11,999 yuan and 12,999 yuan, respectively. If there is a 2TB iPhone, it will be bigger and more expensive......
Would Apple really go that far? The story is quite doubtful.
Rumors of a 2TB iPhone 14 date back as far as the end of September 2021. Taiwan-based media outlet DigiTimes said Apple could adopt QLC storage for iphones as soon as 2022. Later, the industry press cited the news and reported that a partner was testing a new product that could upgrade QLC flash memory to a maximum capacity of 2TB.
In addition, there are few reliable sources on the Web to confirm the "2TB iPhone 14 Pro", which can be used as a reference, or as a happy picture. To be fair, most users probably wouldn't even consider a 1TB iPhone, let alone a 2TB one.
In the early days of the iPhone 13, the 1TB Pro and Pro Max were out of stock, giving the impression that everyone needed a terabyte. Later, a media investigation found that the shortage of 1TB version was actually caused by the price of the channel. As expected into November, the top 1TB model is no longer out of stock.
