Intel 400 series motherboard uses LGA1200 slot, compatible with previous generation radiator

According to the TPU report, Intel ’s forthcoming 400 series motherboards will use LGA1200 sockets. From the design point of view, they are the same size as the old LGA115x, which means that they are physically compatible with LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1150, and LGA1151 CPU heat sinks.

According to the exposed design drawings, the package size of the LGA1200 is the same as the old slot. At present, the radiators of some e-commerce platforms are also marked to support the Intel LGA 1200 platform.

It is reported that the LGA1200 socket will provide support for Intel's 10th generation Core desktop processors, and the new products are expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2020. Although the interface is compatible with the previous generation of heat sinks, it is reported that the TDP of Intel's new K series processors has increased from 95W to 125W, and users still need to consider whether their original heat sinks can meet the cooling requirements.
