For $19 per person per month, GitHub announced the arrival of AI programming tool Copilot into the enterprise space
Dec 09, 2022| GitHub, an online software source-hosting service owned by Microsoft, announced the arrival of Copilot, an AI programming tool, in the enterprise space. GitHub has launched a new plan called Copilot for Business, which costs $19 per user per month.
With the Copilot for Business initiative, GitHub hopes to further increase Copilot's impact, which is expected to attract more than 400,000 new subscribers. The tool helps developers write code by providing suggestions based on the current work on the project.
The tool, powered by the Codex AI model developed by OpenAI, has been trained in tens of millions of public repositories. It complements the Visual Studio, Neovim, and JetBrains integrated development environments and makes coding easier and faster for developers.
Shuyin Zhao, senior director of product management at GitHub, said the launch of the new offer was prompted after hearing that "businesses wanted an easy way to buy GitHub Copilot for their teams."
