Detector diode
The detector diode is used to detect the low frequency signal superimposed on the high frequency carrier. It has high detection efficiency and good frequency characteristics.
Effect
The function of detector (also called demodulator) diode [1] is to use its unidirectional conductivity to extract the low frequency signal or audio signal from the high frequency or intermediate frequency radio signal, which is widely used in the small signal circuit of semiconductor radio, recorder, television and communication equipment, with high working frequency and weak signal processing amplitude.
As far as the principle is concerned, it is detection to take out the modulation signal from the input signal. Taking the magnitude of rectifier current (100mA) as the boundary, the output current less than 100mA is usually called detection. The germanium material is point contact type, the working frequency can reach 400MHz, the forward voltage drop is small, the junction capacitance is small, the detection efficiency is high, the frequency characteristic is good, it is 2AP type. The diode similar to the point contact detector can be used for limiting, chopping, modulating, mixing, switching and other circuits besides general diode detector. The commonly used domestic detector diodes are 2AP series germanium glass encapsulated diodes. The commonly used imported detector diodes are 1n34 / A, 1N60, etc.
