D&G is done in China

Nov 23, 2018|

The incident stemmed from D&G’s announcement last week that three Chinese female models used chopsticks to eat Italian food, but the advertisement was accused of “concealing Chinese culture”. The brand designer, Gabanna, subsequently suspected that China was a "smuggling country" on Instagram, which directly triggered large-scale protests by Chinese netizens. Since the evening of the 21st, D&G-related products have been removed from many well-known Chinese e-commerce platforms including Tmall, Jingdong, Suning and Xiaohongshu. A Chinese student studying in Italy said that on the evening of the 21st local time, about 20 Chinese went to the D&G flagship store in Milan to protest.
