Boeing and Airbus issued a congratulatory note to COMAC on the delivery of its first C919 aircraft to China Eastern Airlines

On December 9, China Eastern Airlines, the world's first user of its homegrown large aircraft C919, took delivery of the world's first aircraft B-919A today, taking a key "first step" in market operation and putting it into commercial passenger service as early as spring 2023.


Boeing China said in a statement that it congratulated COMAC on delivering the first C919, bringing a new model to the global civil aviation market.

The registration number of the aircraft is B-919A, with B representing China's civil aviation aircraft. 919 fits the model name, and A means the first one, highlighting the extraordinary significance of this new model and the first one in the world. The aircraft has a 164-seat two-class layout, with eight business class seats and 156 economy class seats. Cabin interiors, passenger seats, onboard entertainment systems, and aircraft exterior livery have been customized.
