Apple's new charger exposed, iPhone 14 standard?
Sep 26, 2022| For users who own a variety of digital products, there must be a variety of charging heads at home.
If you want to charge different devices at the same time, you need to occupy multiple power plugs, which is very inconvenient.
Now, according to an internal Apple support document discovered by foreign media 9to5Mac, Apple may launch a 35W dual USB-C interface charger in the future.
Although this support document was quickly removed by Apple, it still explicitly mentioned the multi-interface charger.
At present, this charger is similar to a small charging dock, and it only needs to connect two data cables to charge two devices at the same time.
Take the iPhone 13 Pro Max as an example. Previous tests have shown that when the iPhone 13 Pro Max is connected to a 30W or higher USB-C charger, it can charge at a maximum speed of 27W.
This multi-port charger has a charging power of 35W, which means it can charge the iPhone 13 Pro Max at full speed.
At the same time, it is expected that the 35W power charger can also improve the charging efficiency for the upcoming iPhone 14.
In addition, dual-port chargers are more convenient when charging two devices at the same time.
For example, we can charge two iPhones at the same time, or charge the iPhone and Apple Watch 7 at the same time.
This product design idea is actually reflected in the dual-item MagSafe wireless charger, which can support two devices for wireless charging at the same time.
However, compared with traditional cable charging, the efficiency of wireless charging is still relatively low.
This reminds Xiaoguo of AirPower, a multi-device wireless charger that Apple was going to launch. Due to the high technical difficulty of the product, Apple delayed the release time many times, and it was called off in 2019 and died.
It is believed that Apple's launch of this dual-interface charger is also planning ahead for the multi-device wireless charger that will be launched in the future.
Breaking through technical barriers, solving the problem of low charging efficiency of multiple devices, allowing users to completely say goodbye to traditional cable charging.
At present, Apple is expanding its product line of power adapters. According to previous news sent by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is also developing a 30W gallium nitride charger.
Compared with ordinary chargers, GaN chargers can achieve a smaller, lighter volume and are more energy efficient.
If the news is true, this will be Apple's first gallium nitride charger compatible with devices such as the iPhone.
As of now, it is unclear in what form the dual-interface USB-C charger and 30W gallium nitride charger will meet with us, whether they will be launched together or sold separately, and there is no definite news.
But what is certain is that the dual-interface USB-C charger will definitely not come with the iPhone 14 package, but will be sold separately, and the price should not be low.
