Apple's fall event may include three smartwatches, the Pro model caters to the hardcore movement, and the M2-chip iPad Pro and Mac may be unveiled

Apple is also likely to unveil three next-generation smartwatches at this fall's event, dubbed the Apple Watch Series 8 Series, which are expected to add women's health features and a temperature sensor.

While the standard watch will look similar to the Series 7, the Pro model will cater to sporty consumers with a larger display, longer battery life, a sturdy titanium case and new fitness tracking features, mirroring other brands' high-end sports smartwatches in the same category. The cheaper Apple Watch SE will also be improved, with a faster chip processor.

Apple is also likely to introduce new low-end iPad tablets with A14 chips and USB-C ports, as well as a new high-end iPad Pro with M2 chips. A number of Mac laptops are also expected, such as the Mac Mini and MacBook Pro with the M2 chip.

IOS 16 for smartphones and watchOS 9 for smartwatches are expected in September, followed by iPadOS for tablets and macOS Ventura for laptops in October. The iPad operating system software will be delayed by a month, partly due to bugs surrounding its new Stage Manager multi-tasking system feature, it has been reported.

According to the report, Apple's fall hardware event will still be streamed live online, rather than inviting media and users to offline gatherings. With Sept. 7 still about three weeks away, Apple could still change the date of the event. On Monday, the same reporter said Apple may be planning two events this fall, similar to past years: a September event focused on the new iPhone and Apple Watch, and a second event in October focused on the Mac and iPad.

Other tech media have also reported that Apple is working on a second generation of wireless AirPods Pro headphones, possibly with lossless audio support, that are also expected to appear at the fall event. The new entry-level iPad will ditch the headphone jack. Apple is considering an update to its HomePod Mini smart speaker as it plans a bigger push into the home device market, releasing a new version of its full-size HomePod early next year. Others said that the foldable iPhone is still in the prototype stage, there is no rush to large-scale commercial, next year's hardware highlight will be a mixed reality headset.
