Apple's position in consumer electronics is well known, leading and sometimes competing with the industry through its extraordinary market share and technological prowess.

The Android phone camp has been basically normalized to USB-C port, including Apple's computer products, but for years, Apple's phones still insist on Lightning port, resulting in fragmentation of the accessory market. The iPhone finally ditched its Lightning port for USB-C, which it had been using for years, in a move that was good for the industry as a whole to follow the trend of unification and reduce e-waste.
