Mar 22, 2023| Apple monopolizes 75%, and the 2022 high-end smartphone market survey report is released
Recently, research institutions have released the overall market research report for 2022, among which there have been a number of data ranking information related to the smartphone field.

Now, research firm Counterpoint Research has released a report again, announcing the sales performance of high-end smartphones in 2022.
The report mentioned that in 2022, the overall sales volume of global smartphones decreased by 12% year-on-year, but the sales volume of global high-end smartphones (wholesale price ≥ 600 US dollars, about 4,130 yuan) increased by 1% year-on-year, which made the revenue contribution of the high-end market account for the first time. 55% of the total revenue of the global smartphone market. Sales of high-end devices also account for more than one-fifth of total global smartphone sales.

At the same time, the price range of $1,000 (about 6,880 yuan) and above is the fastest growing product range in 2022, up 38% year-on-year. And this is mainly due to the increasing importance of smartphones in life, and users intend to spend more money on these devices to get longer usage time.
In terms of specific vendor rankings, Apple's sales in the high-end market increased by 6% year-on-year, occupying 75% of the market share, expanding to three-quarters of the total sales in this segment.

Samsung came in second, with 2022 sales down 5% year-on-year, but still capturing a 16% share of the premium market.
Huawei's share was 3%, down from 5% the previous year, but still ranked third. Xiaomi, Honor and Google all occupied 1% of the market.
Combined with the list information, Apple has once again expanded its share of the high-end market in the past year and continued to consolidate its dominant position in high-end equipment. The share of brands such as Samsung and Huawei has shrunk, which makes the pattern of the high-end market change again.
However, the analysis of the report also shows that Android models may usher in a new round of growth in 2023. Counterpoint Research expects more manufacturers to launch foldable devices this year. This will further boost the sales of non-iOS models in the high-end market.
