Apple is working on OLED panels without polarizers

According to TheElec, Apple has begun developing an OLED panel that does not use polarizers. And not using polarizers on the panels makes them thinner, making them better for folding phones. Samsung Display is known to be the first manufacturer of non-polarizing OLED panels. Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the phone that uses the panel. Instead of using a traditional polarizer, Samsung displays print a color filter (abbreviated CF on TFE) on a film package and add a black pixel-defining layer. This enables the foldable panel to provide sharper colors through color filters, sources said.
