Apple fined $2 million by Brazil’s Consumer Protection Commission (Procon-SP) for banning mobile phone chargers in Brazil

The iPhone does not provide chargers for environmental protection, and Apple has also been sued by users in some countries and regions, especially in Brazil, where it has been fined many times. In 2021, Apple was fined $2 million by the Brazilian Consumer Protection Commission (Procon-SP) for violating the Consumer Law Act because it no longer included a mobile phone charging head in Brazil.

Apple's previous response to this was to re-emphasize its previous environmental argument that most users already have a suitable charger and that not having a charging head is to be environmentally friendly. Procon-SP is not satisfied with Apple's response this time, and believes that the problem has not been solved, and that Apple has not provided enough strong evidence, which also paved the way for another recent fine.
