Historically, the MicroUSB interface was recommended with the same difficulty as it is now. The implementation of this law has many benefits, not only can make it easier to charge mobile smart devices, but also can reduce unnecessary charging wire production, reduce waste, and contribute to environmental protection.
Mobile phone chargers have long been available in a variety of ports, from MicroUSB to MiniUSB, and even proprietary charging data ports, which are designed to be extremely inconvenient for consumers. Most of the time we are in urgent need of charging but found that the charging interface is not the same. In response, the European Commission has approved an agreement between 14 major mobile phone brands to unify USB ports for mobile phones under the name MicroUSB and adopt a new standard for MicroUSB mobile phone chargers.
The current list of handset manufacturers supporting the resolution includes MOTOROLA, Nokia, Huawei, LG, Samsung, SONY, Ericsson and others. After the implementation of this agreement, consumers do not have to worry about charging, which makes life more relaxed. At the same time, it can reduce the output of chargers, and the behavior of discarding chargers caused by the replacement of mobile phones will also be greatly reduced. Moreover, it can save consumers' expenditure, which is also good for reducing environmental pollution and energy conservation and emission reduction.
In response to the above agreement, the EU has established a new regulation on mobile phone chargers under the standard ETSI EN 301 489-34 V1.1.1 (2010-10), which complies with the CE Directive. In other words, mobile phone chargers with a MicroUSB port are CE certified, plus they have to meet the requirements of this standard.
En301489-34 refers to Part 34 of the electromagnetic compatibility standards relating to radio equipment and services, that is, special provisions for external power supply equipment for mobile phones. The device is powered by a charger using a MicroUSB USB plug cable; Charging voltage: 5V± 5%; The maximum output current is limited from 500 to 1500MA.
A review of USB-IF's technical documentation reveals that this is the group behind MicroUSB.
