Mobile phone performance in CES history

For mobile phone enthusiasts, CES and MWC are the most noteworthy events in the past. A large number of new mobile phones and new technologies will be released during this period. But I don't know when it started, mainstream mobile phone manufacturers are not releasing new machines at CES. By 2019, the phone almost completely disappeared from CES. So when did the phone fade out of CES, why did it fade out of CES? We will come to sort out the analysis now.

The first CES was held in 1967, and the exhibits covered electrical appliances such as transistor radios and black and white televisions. Since then, the presence of home appliances in CES has been strong.

Since the 1970s, home entertainment appliances such as personal computers and game consoles have begun to appear in large numbers. In the 1980s, products such as mobile computers, cordless phones, and CD players came one after another.

Also in the 1980s, the first mobile phone, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X, was launched in 1984 and sold for $3,995, which is not expected for mainstream consumers.

Since the original intention of CES was not based on mobile phones, and the development of mobile phones was later than CES, the mobile phones were almost completely absent before the 21st century.

Mobile phones began to appear in 2000

With giants such as Nokia launching products that are affordable and portable enough to carry around, the mobile phone has entered the mainstream of consumer electronics and began to appear at CES.

In addition to Nokia's fiery, the first decade of 2000 also ushered in Microsoft's mobile operating system Windows Mobile, one of the most famous mobile operating systems before iOS and Android.

At this time, another exhibition, MWC (also called "GSM World Congress"), which was founded in 1990, is gradually getting on the right track.

The first iPhone released by Apple in 2007 changed the world, with a multi-touch interactive keyboardless form. Subsequently, major manufacturers began to exert their power on touch-screen mobile phones, such as the Palm Pre with WebOS and the Android phones that were launched in 2009.

The climax of 2010 begins

The power of Android and iOS allows people to accomplish tasks that were previously unimaginable on mobile phones, making mobile phones more popular and even replacing some computer features.

Mobile phones are also popular in the market. Numerous manufacturers at home and abroad want to make a fortune in the mobile phone market with unlimited potential, and new products and new technologies are emerging one after another. After 2010, mobile phones have gradually become the protagonists of consumer electronics. Directly led to the mobile phone at this stage constantly sweeping CES, new products continue.

In addition to the phone itself, other related products began to appear at CES. For example, at CES 2013, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 800 and Snapdragon 600 chipset. And this Qualcomm speech replaced the previous years of Intel and became the first speech of CES 2013.

Starting downhill in 2015

In 2013 and 2014, foreign brands such as Samsung and Sony basically did not release new machines at CES, and the release of the flagship machine almost disappeared. The only companies still insisting are domestic brands such as Huawei, ZTE and Lenovo.
